As a global company, CPM Braxis fulfils its
mission of operating in the world in an
ecologically conscious and socially responsible
way. Besides taking care of its clients’ IT
projects, the company also organizes a series of
actions in a quest for sustainability.
Since December 2006, the unit in Salvador,
Bahia, has held ISO 14001:2004 certification, an
international standard that establishes the best
practices adopted in handling the Environmental
Management System of companies. The model
enables the improvement of environmental
performance to be carried out, with the help and
participation of all employees, through the
operating procedures and planned monitoring
actions.
Awareness of the need to mobilize actions for
preserving the environment is also present in the
CPM Braxis promotional material, which is produced
on recycled paper. In conformity with the policy
that governs the company's environmental actions,
it is the duty of CPM Braxis
to:
|
|
| |
Encourage an increase in
the productivity and quality in the delivery of IT
products and services through motivated
professionals and continuous improvements in
processes and management, as well as compliance
with regulatory rules applicable to the company.
Our activities are carried out with a commitment
to prevent pollution and impacts on the
environment and to economize natural resources,
establishing communication channels with
interested parties, so as to stimulate the
creation of a collective perception of
responsibility for future
generations. |

Also
aware of the importance of schools as a cradle for
educating society, CPM Braxis closely accompanies
the progress of more than 980 students and
teachers of Luiz Gonzaga Travassos da Rosa
Elementary School, in Jardim Novo Morumbi, on the
outskirts of São Paulo. This initiative is
carried out in partnership with the NGO Parceiros da Educação (Partners in
Education), coordinated by the company’s CEO, Jair
Ribeiro. Currently, the NGO is coordinating
the help given by a number of private companies to
25 state schools with a total of more than 30,000
students.
In the school in Jardim Novo Morumbi, the
bathrooms, schoolyard, corridors, library, dining
room, sports court and classrooms have already
been renovated. The interaction of the
students ranges from the choice of the colors of
the paint for the different areas of the school,
to making better use of the teaching, which is the
main objective of the collaboration by CPM
Braxis.
As a result of this work, the students’ grades
have already improved 12% when comparing 2004 with
2005, according to the tests of the Assessment
System for School Performance in the State of São
Paulo (Saresp).
To assure continuity and greater effectiveness
of the actions carried out in the school, CPM
Braxis and the NGO Parceiros da Educação have organized for two consecutive years a one-day
social event called “Fazer e Valer”
(Doing and Helping), held in the school to
integrate students, family members and the
neighboring community with a variety of workshops
and social actions.
This work in
search of social and environmental sustainability
is a continuous process of new initiatives. Within
this context, CPM Braxis is constantly involving
its employees in this socio-environmental
commitment.
